News: Bloomsbury 247tales UK Writing Competition

Bloomsbury have launched a new online writing competition in the UK. It challenges children between the ages of 8 and 16 to write stories using 247 words or fewer. Each month, a theme will be set, and a Bloomsbury author will also write their own 247tale.

One winner will be chosen each month, and they will receive £75 worth of Bloomsbury books and have their story featured on the website. Ten runners-up will get a signed copy of the latest book from that month's featured author, as well as links to their stories.

Elen Caldecott has written the first 247tale, and you can read that here. For more information on the competition and how to enter, visit the 247tales site.

I heard about this but I'm over 16 =( £75 worth of books sounds amazing. They should have a 16-25 version too!

Wish they had an over 40s version too! But what a fabulous idea....shall point my son in that direction.
Your blog is AMAZING. Only just popped over and already been here way too long (as supposed to be working).... Shall tear myself away now but pop back for sneaky hits (think it's addictive).
