Legends of Midralon: Emily & the Silent King by Irven Keppen

From Amazon: Emily doesn't know how she ended up in this strange land along with her sister and two brothers. Her only desire is to get her family safely back home to their own world. There is just one problem: it appears her only way back will lead to an encounter with the sinister Silent King himself! Join Emily as she adventures in the enchanting land of Midralon!

Emily & the Silent King is the first book in the self-published Legends of Midralon series, and is an exciting YA fantasy adventure.

Emily, Devin, Brianna and Aidan are all brilliant characters, who find themselves in a strange land called Midralon. They encounter many different types of creatures, including sprites, gnomes, dwarves and elves, and succeed in forming a much-needed alliance. Their journey is one filled with courage and bravery, and the dangers that lie in wait within the lands of Midralon.

My favourite characters were the fairy Greenblade, elven Prince Relanor and Helgi the dwarf. I loved the descriptions of the creatures and landscapes, and found it really easy to visualise everything. Reading this book also made me wish I could visit Midralon myself, and meet one of the fantastical creatures the children come across. I can't think of anything more fun than having a feast with the elves in their tree, or learning to ride Stomper the white stag!

Irven Keppen has created a world that fans of The Chronicles of Narnia series will love, and one that both teens and adults alike will enjoy. After being left with a cliffhanger of an ending, I can't wait to see what will happen to the characters next. I just hope Devin can outrun any evil Nooben or warlocks that may be hot on his trail...

I have been reading many good reviews of this book and it's got me wanting it more and more - even with the unicorn on the cover (haha!).

Hmm, not on amazon. I shall see how else I can get the book!
