US Vs. UK: Fire Covers

US // UK

As much as I love the UK cover for Fire (and I do - it's lovely), I prefer the US one. The colours, images and text just stand out so much -- it's hard to look away. I don't know what it's like in person, but I bet it's brilliant.

The UK artwork is amazing, and has to be one of the nicest covers I've seen in a long time. It's shelved in the adult sci-fi/fantasy section over here, and it's definitely the most eye-catching cover on the shelves at the moment. Which would you pick?

Living in Canada, I'm guessing we're going to get the US version ~frowns~ I actually just love the UK versoin better.
They are both equally brilliant though!

Thanks for this, I wasn't sure which one we'd be getting;)

I'm UK all the way for this one! :D

UK, easily, although if I had been forced to guess, I would have had them the other way around, as it's the US that loves the figures on the front.

Completely agree with Mark - the UK one looks like a US cover to me. I like the UK one best - had to squint at the US one to work out what it was - but I love the colours.

I just got a review copy in the mail yesterday, totally out of the blue, and I was blown away by how gorgeous the cover is up close--and I'm talking about the UK cover. It's bee-yootiful.

Oh, I think the UK one is brilliant. There's so much dead space on the US one, and the colors are muted and ugly.

I like them both, but I would pick up the US cover first. The colors do it for me.

UK, hands down. It rates a 10 compared to the US's 4 on the scale of awesome.

I'm hands down for the US. I got an ARC of it and it was printed on, I think it's what they call foil paper, and it was so shimmery and the the purples and the reds are just absolutely gorgeous. I wish I could see it in it's real format, hardcover!

I don't know about these. I prefer the US Graceling, but I just don't know about Fire!

I agree that the UK and US covers look like they've been swapped! I prefer the UK one here - that's a gorgeous fantasy style.

Hands down, I pick the UK cover. I'm even ordering my copy (along with Graceling) from the UK in the next few days. Love it, love it!

Wooww, I can't really decide! They're both so beautiful. I think I'm leaning slightly towards the US for this one though. Both amazing covers though. (:

I like both! I like the red of the US one, but I love the mood the UK one gives. Looove!

If I had to pick I'd choose the UK one but I really like both.

I love both, but I'd have to say the U.K one just edges it for me. The sky behind the woman is amazing- it says os much. Would definitely pick it up.

The US cover matches the Graceling cover, so it's good. BUT I LOVE the UK one! It's beautiful.

Both covers look awesome but the UK one draws me in so much more. It's hard to look away with its intensity.

I like them both, but I have to go with the UK one. It's just stronger somehow.

Both are great but I'd pick the UK. The contrasting colors give it more power and punch compared to the US one.

I'd pick UK I love how dark and rich the colors are.

Oooh, UK! It's so fantasy-cool.

I CAN'T CHOOSE. Ugh so difficult. I think I'm leaning towards the UK one though, since the red hair is fierce. I love the swirly stuff on the US one though...AAAAH I'll just go with UK so I don't think about this too much.

I love the US one more. It looks even more beautiful in person!

I'm actually surprised that people like the US one - I really don't like it. Is it just me or is the font for the UK one the same font as for Maria Snyder's books? It's so beautiful!

I love the UK one - the dress and the hair, both in colour and style... absolutely gorgeous.

I like the UK cover better. I love the way the red contrasts the green. I love the font better on the UK cover. And I love how she's standing there, looking so in control with that bow and arrow.

I prefer the US version. The UK version looks like every other cover out there. I've just seen too many of that type, and the US version looks much more original to me. That's also what drew me Graceling (the US cover).

I love the UK cover for Fire. It took me five minutes to realise there was a face on the US cover.
