US Vs. UK: Shade Covers

US // UK

I really like these covers. They're swirly, armospheric and use a mix of great colours. I'd have no problem buying either, though I do wish Jeri's name was larger on both books. Having read Shade, I'm glad the colour red has some prominence on both covers - it's kind of important, and story-specific covers always make me happy.

In conclusion, I love them both! I'm sure they'll look even better in person, and I can't wait to see them. Oh, and from a distance, the model on the UK cover reminds me of Lea Michele (Rachel) from Glee... anyone else, or is it just me?

I like the US cover, there's something mysterious about it.

I prefer the US one, it is more enticing than the UK version :)

I like the US cover. I'm really not a fan of just having some random girl's photograph on a book cover. I want some art. Also the UK cover has a P.C. Cast blurb which would make me run away :)

I'm a fan of the US one but the UK one is pretty cool looking. I don't really like the model they used but the color swirls are neat-o.

Hm, its a very close one but I'll go with UK because it draws more attention. Love this feature :P

I like the blue in the UK cover it adds a contrast to the dark background but I don't like the swirls covering up the girls face and body. I think the US cover is better design wise, the UK is more artsy.

As for text I wish the author's name on the US cover was more legible

I like the UK one. There's technicolor brilliance going on there, and I am so not a fan of the US arm. Uh, it's JUST AN ARM. Awkward. I'm totally getting the UK one for my collection. :)

I like the UK one the best, and that arm looks suspiciously like a leg on the US cover. I LOVE the red though, because when I read some of the book, I was like "ahhhhhhh, clever" I can imagine the cover desinger twiriling their moustache and cackling with glee at being a genius.

I'm so used to the US one that I think the UK one will take me a little time to get used to. However... it's pretty, and it has the same type of 'feel' as the US one in some ways. I have to confess that it also makes me a little uncomfortable when the author's name is the same size as the name of an author who has given a quote about the book. Maybe that's just me though.

Oh I have always loved the US version but after reading the book I think I like the blue more on the UK cover! I do not, however, like that PC Casts font size is the same (or maybe bigger)and more prominent then Jeri's though LOL
