US Vs. UK: Claire de Lune Covers

US // UK

I'm torn this week: I really like both covers. When I first saw the UK one, I wasn't keen, but it's grown on me. I think the red and black is very striking, and it uses the Zephyr font used for The Twilight Saga. Instant win in my opinion!

The US cover image is also eye-catching, and there's no way I'd walk past it in a shop. I'm not sure that either of them really scream werewolf though, at least not to me anyway. (Is that just me? Would you see these and automatically think "Ah yes, werewolves"?)

Do you have a preference?

No preference at all, I like them both quite a lot :)

I'm not too keen on either:

UK cover seems to be another one of those books trying to deliberately seem Twilight-y to sell more books (the whole black background, red and white details/font, the same font type etc.) - I mean, I like it, but I don't like where the inspiration for the cover clearly came from.

US cover had potential but I don't like the cover model or the font.

I think UK probably wins though, when there's a model on the cover and I don't like the model I still end up with her stuck in my head as the MC. =/

Neither really peak my interest, but if I had to choose I would say UK.

I like the both the UK cover catches my eye more easily, the red keeps grabbing my attention. I can't see werewolf in either of them though there both very vague in that aspect.

I think the UK one but it reminds me of one of the covers done for Shiver - the UK one I think. It's still more striking I think.

The US one definitely says werewolf to me -- it's got the forest and a moon. Thus, werewolfy! I like it better, too, since I think using the phrase Claire de Lune and not including a moon is kind of odd. :)

Both are pretty, but I'm liking the UK cover a little better.

I want Claire de Lune - either cover will do - damm you amazon lying about release dates (shakes fist at sky). In all seriousness I think I like the UK one the best

Probably the US one. I don't really like book covers that just have mainly text on the front and no picture. Plus, it's more obvious it's a werewolf book on the US cover because of the full moon :)

I really like the UK cover, I love the design...but I also like the moon on the US cover and how atmospheric it is. I think it's a draw this week and maybe merging the two would be perfect!

I like the UK one better! I'm always drawn to red and black covers for some reason....

I think I prefer the UK cover for once, although I do wish UK publishers would stop with the "all YA/vampire/werewolf/paranormal covers must look like Twilight rip-offs" syndrome.

I really prefer the US cover. The UK cover doesn't appeal to me at all. And neither cover would make me think of werewolves.

For a nice change - I love both. I would certainly buy either. The US one does have the moon which I guess is werewolfy but hey they are both very commercial.

I initially really liked the US cover (somehow I managed to see the US one first) but I prefer the UK one - I like both though!

I like the UK one, although I think it's a bit strange they decided to use the Twilight font, I know it's only a font but it kind of feels as though it's the 'Twilight' font!

I will have to betray my country and say I like the US cover more than the UK one, and for reasons you alone are privvy too :-p *meow*

I definitely like the UK one better - in fact, I think it's quite beautiful but it certainly doesn't shout werewolf. Actually, it kind of shouts fairytale to me. Either way, I'd definitely pick it up on the strength of that cover alone.
