12 Deaths of Christmas: A Chainsaw Gang Blog Tour! ~ Verse 4

The '12 Deaths of Christmas' was thought up by a group of UK horror writers who call themselves the Chainsaw Gang. Each blogger participating has one verse from the song to post, along with each author's answers to one horror-themed question.

Here's mine...

On the first day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
A corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the second day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the third day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Three zombies snarling
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Four Wheezers wheezing
Three zombies snarling
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

Question:

If you could be in any horror movie, which would you choose and who would you play?

SARWAT CHADDA: Blade. The first movie. I just loved the whole kick-assed-ness of it all. It was real urban fantasy and the fight scene in the nightclub was a fan-boy dream, and the soundtrack was everything it should be. Blade was cool, had the accessories and took no prisoners. The vampires were glamorous, savage, non-sparkly and died in droves!
Slick, bloody, violent and filled with dead-pan humour. Everything a vampire movie should be.

WILLIAM HUSSEY: I’d be the Duc de Richleau in The Devil Rides Out. Suave, sophisticated, urbane, witty, erudite, and nothing like me! I’ve always loved those characters in horror books and films that are the storehouses of spooky knowledge – the intellectual weapon that the good guys can use against the forces of darkness. Plus, I’d be Christopher Lee, so if I got bored fighting the dastardly Mocata I could pop off to Summerisle and burn Edward Woodward alive in a great big wicker man!

JON MAYHEW: I’m not sure I’d want to be in a horror film as it would be scary (I’m a genuine cowardy custard!). Maybe Van Helsing in one of the Hammer Dracula movies, though knowing my luck, I’d probably end up as Uncle Fester in the Addams Family!

SARAH SILVERWOOD: I think I'd choose Dracula - old school vampires, none of this 'dead but still have teenage angst' stuff (surely one of the upsides of being dead is that you don't have to have any kind of angst?), and I'd probably want to be Lucy Westenra. She had a LOT of boyfriends. I'd prefer it if in my version of the film she didn't end up with a stake through her heart and her head cut off though.

STEPHEN DEAS: Tough question. I'll go for Alien. On both counts.

Check back on Tuesday 14th December for more of my answers, plus a chance to win a set of the Chainsaw Gang's books and another verse from the most horrific Christmas song ever. Until then, head over to The Book Zone (for Boys) tomorrow to get the next part of the song!
