12 Deaths of Christmas: A Chainsaw Gang Blog Tour! ~ Verse 9 + Giveaway

The '12 Deaths of Christmas' was thought up by a group of UK horror writers who call themselves the Chainsaw Gang. Each blogger participating has one verse from the song to post, along with each author's answers to one horror-themed question.

Here's my last verse...

On the first day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
A corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the second day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the third day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Three zombies snarling
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Four Wheezers wheezing
Three zombies snarling
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Five buzzing saws
Four Wheezers wheezing
Three zombies snarling
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the six day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Six yetis freezing
Five buzzing saws
Four Wheezers wheezing
Three zombies snarling
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Seven Templars fighting
Six yetis freezing
Five buzzing saws
Four Wheezers wheezing
Three zombies snarling
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Eight crawlers creeping
Seven Templars fighting
Six yetis freezing
Five buzzing saws
Four Wheezers wheezing
Three zombies snarling
Two werewolves howling
And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me

Nine Knights of Nowhere

Eight crawlers creeping

Seven Templars fighting

Six yetis freezing

Five buzzing saws

Four Wheezers wheezing

Three zombies snarling

Two werewolves howling

And a corpse hanging from a pear tree.

Question:

If you could be in any horror movie, which would you choose and who would you play?

ALEXANDER GORDON SMITH: I actually write horror movies, and the production company I own with my sister and brother and law – Fear Driven Films – is co-producing our first film next year. It’s called Stagnant, and is about a mutant bride who kills stag parties on the Norfolk Broads. I’m hoping to have a non-speaking bit part in the film, and will make sure that in the credits I’m listed as ‘Extraordinarily Handsome Chap in the Red Hat’ or something like that!

If I could pick any character from any film, though, then I’d choose Jason from Friday 13th. How cool would it be to be one of the guys behind that mask!

~

ALEX BELL: I don’t know because I don’t watch horror movies anymore. I can’t help jumping when something scary leaps out on the screen, and after spilling red wine on the cream couch one too many times, I’ve now been banned from watching scary films.

~

SAM ENTHOVEN: Bursting through windows, flinging Bruce Campbell through the air and, of course, charging around the forest going 'hnnnnnnnnnnNNNNNNNNGGGGGGHHHH!' Yep: being the unseen demonic force in Evil Dead 2 always looks like it would be a lot of fun, to me.

~

DAVID GATWARD: Ash in Evil Dead 2. One of the greatest horror-comic roles ever. Not only does he get to waste The Dead, he does with a chainsaw attached to his severed wrist and a shotgun on his back. What’s not to love?

~

STEVE FEASEY: My all-time favourite horror flick is Alien, so I’d love to be in that. As there are only two survivors, I’d want to be one of them, so I’d opt to be the cat, Jonesy. It gets a fairly easy ride compared to the rest of the crew, anyway. The only problem is that I’m not particularly fond of cats, so the thought of being one fills me with a horror all of its own. Can you imagine coughing up balls of your own fur?!
