UK Cover Love: Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien

Today Simon & Schuster Children's revealed the UK cover for Caragh O'Brien's Birthmarked, via their @simonkids_UK Twitter account. Isn't it amazing?! Just... yeah. WOW!

Birthmarked is published in the UK in May 2011, and here's what it's about:
In the enclave, your scars set you apart, and the newly born will change the future. In the future, in a world baked dry by the harsh sun, there are those who live inside the walled Enclave and those, like sixteen-year-old Gaia Stone, who live outside. Following in her mother's footsteps Gaia has become a midwife, delivering babies in the world outside the wall and handing a quota over to be "advanced" into the privileged society of the Enclave. Gaia has always believed this is her duty, until the night her mother and father are arrested by the very people they so loyally serve. Now Gaia is forced to question everything she has been taught, but her choice is simple: enter the world of the Enclave to rescue her parents, or die trying.

What do you think of the cover?

It's amazing. I've actually been wanting to read this one for a while and I actually like the UK cover even more than the US one. I really like the way the tag line is part of the design.

Interesting. Very different from the U.S. cover.

Gorgeous! Think I also prefer it to the US one, although as La Coccinelle points out, they both have very different feels.

I most definitely prefer this to the US one! For some reason, I like pictures with words written inside them o_O. This book seems so awesome too.
To be honest, I really look forward to seeing your weekly posts about the UK covers vs. the US ones:D

I love this cover, but the US one is not bad. This seems much more mature and romantic than the US cover. I loved this book!!
