US Vs. UK: Forgotten Covers

US // UK

I *love* this UK cover. Aside from the brilliant strapline - 'I remember my future, but my past is a blank' - I just think the mirrored image is so eye-catching, and the title font is bold and different. I haven't read the book yet, but I'm guessing the grey-haired girl represents the past, with the red-haired girl representing the future. Very cool concept.

I'm not sure what I think of the US cover. I only saw it for the first time a couple of days ago, and it didn't immediately stick in my mind. It reminds me of the US paperback cover for Jennifer Brown's Hate List, which uses the same style of large text over a background image. If given the choice, I'm not sure I'd buy the US edition of Forgotten, though its hardback status might just convince me.

So yes, the UK is a firm winner for me. It looks fresh and unusual, and I like that. Can't wait to see it out and about on shelves! What do you guys think?

I'm not much a fan of the US cover - I LOVE both the Australian and UK versions. They're two vastly different representations, but I think capture the essence of the book. Plus they look gorgeous. I've read this and absolutely LOVED it. It's a beautifully written book!

I had seen another cover for this one that I thought was the US one.. And I think I would like the UK one best if not for the font! I dont like that font, so I vote US :P

Now I see it was the Aussie one that I had seen. That's my favourite also.

The Australian Cover is the best hands down! But I do love the UK one too.

I think the UK cover is the best - I love the mirror image and the font. The US version is just horrible!

UK one for me. I don't like the US one and I don't get the Australian one!

UK wins hands down.

I really don't like the US cover. That UK cover wins by a landslide in my opinion.

Oh the UK is a definite winner this time around no questions about it. I agree with everything you've said about it. I saw the US cover when I read an article about how this book is going to be made into a move and how the main girl from True Grit is going to play the lead.

I really like the UK one. The US one doesn't have as much impact. I kind of wish the UK one had a slightly different tone of colour to the background though. Really looking forward to reading this one.

Out of these two I definitely pick UK. But the Aussie one is my all time favorite. The US one is just plain boring.

UK for this one. I had remembered seeing a different US cover on Goodreads but I guess they either changed it or it was always another country's cover...? Anyway, I agree, I don't really care for it. It's awkward and off-putting.

The US one is a bit boring. How many other covers out there look just like that one? A lot, that's the answer. But the UK one is beautiful!

I like the UK cover the best.

Well, I like the picture on the UK cover but I like the big block letters in the US cover. So, I think if we took those two elements and smashed them together then I would say perfect.

UK, definitely. But I have seen a different that I love. It's of a girl sleeping in a field surrounded by poppies and it's kind of blury? Not sure if it's an old US one or what but I loved it.

I'm gonna have to disagree. I really don't like the UK cover - the model looks awkward and weird and it's just too grey and depressing looking for me. I'm not a fan of the US cover either, however; my favourite is the Australian one :).

The unusualness and intriguing quality of the UK cover wins for me. The US one just looks so...boring. Plus, what's up with the author's name being super small on the US cover? I almost didn't even see it, lol.

I love typography-heavy covers so I dig the US one. :) The scratchy effect of the letters is nice, as is the way the letters frame her eyes. The UK image is pretty, and the strapline rocks, but to me it looks very similar to a lot of other supernatural teenlit (red, black, windswept hair, vaguely old-timey font etc).

Ooh, this is the first time I've seen the UK cover, and I love it. I adore the image as well as how the two girls represent the past and the future. The US cover is somewhat boring, in my opinion. It seems like something that I would easily look past.

I've read this book and absolutely adored it. I'm definitely a fan of the UK cover but the US one doesn't appeal to me much.
