US Vs. UK: A Long, Long Sleep Covers

US // UK

I really like both of these covers, even though they're very different. For me the UK one stands out that little bit more, just because of the bright blue colours and pattern that follows the cover round. I own that edition, and when it arrived I immediately thought of how much it stands out from other YA at the moment. The UK market is still into its black covers, with some white creeping in (see our Fury cover), and I've always thought we need more blue. Now we've got it!

I do like the US cover too. It's simple and pretty, and the white stands out like our UK one. I prefer the US font too, as well as the author name placement. I don't think either cover gives much about the actual book away, which is both a good and bad thing. They're both very strong, different, non-black covers, and that will always get points from me.

What do you guys think?

I much prefer the US cover, I think it's simple and striking. This may be because I really cannot stand models on book covers - it makes me feel like the way I imagine a character is being pre-prescribed. However, I do love the blue and agree that we could do with seeing more in this colour scheme!

The US cover pips it for me. It looks very modern and I like the way the vines (stems?) curl around the typeface. The UK one is truly beautiful, but the model's nose bothers me because I think I should be able to see her other nostril and I can't. And her hair has a hint of mullet-i-ness to it. But the detailing and that lapis blue will make it leap out in a world of monochrome.

Not that I know what's inside the book, but I do think the Sleeping Beauty imagery plus title probably give me a fair idea of what to expect...doesn't it?

I think I prefer the Uk one but thats really cause I love the blue, for me I'm just happy to have a change from the black twilgiht-esque covers that seem to have taken over UK books- they're so boring

I love the UK cover! It's so pretty with the blue color and the flowers. The US cover looks too much like something a fan made for fun.

I have to say I prefer the US. Though I like the blue colour, the face looks really out of place to me.

I like them both for different reason, but I think the US one wins for me.

They are both gorgeous, I really like both of them. At first I liked the US cover, but now I have read your opinion on the UK one and I agree about the colours. I still prefer the US version though.

I like the UK cover much better. The US cover is way too boring even though I absolutely LOVED this book!

I'm torn with this one - I love them both, a love the elegant flowers and the colours on the US cover but equally the UK one is striking and the colours are gorgeous. I actually can't decide.
