Cool Covers: Movie Tie-Ins!

I'm a big fan of movie tie-in covers, even if I don't always love the big screen adaptations themselves. Here are some of my all-time recent and not-so-recent favourites, plus one that is scheduled to be in shops in January 2014. Let me know your thoughts!

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones by Cassie Clare (US)

GoT: A Storm of Swords Part 1 - Steel and Snow by George R.R. Martin (UK)

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (UK)

LotR: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien (US & UK)

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (Dawntreader cover, UK omnibus)

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis (UK)

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (UK - January 2014)

I LOVE the City of Bones one - I hadn't seen it before but it's fab! The covers for The Hunger Games and The Lord of the Rings are my other two favourites here, I think :)

I work in a bookshop in Ireland and we have that Book Thief cover already. It's lovely in person.

I love that new Book Thief cover and since I don't own the book maybe I will get that one. I don't own many movie tie-in covers because by the time they come out I nearly always own the book and I never re-buy, its a shame because some of them look really cool.
