When Ava discovers an imaginary cat in the cabbage patch, she knows she's found a new best friend. Together, Ava and Squishy McFluff get up to all kinds of mischief...
Squishy McFluff: The Invisible Cat is yet another lovely children's book that I've been lucky enough to read. It's about a little girl called Ava and my favourite of all animals: a cat! Squishy is Ava's invisible kitten, who causes mischievous havoc around the house, much to the delight of her mum. They're the best of friends and make for two great children's characters!
Pip Jones is quite a master when it comes to rhyming, and I'm sure it must take her ages to perfect it (I'm no rhymer myself so high five, Pip!). I loved reading every page, seeing which rhyming words fit where and waiting for a charming, funny story to unfold.
I also must mention Ella Okstad's illustrations, which are cute and an absolute delight to look at. I finished the book wanting my very own little white Squishy, even though I do already have a very nice kitty cat of my own. Squishy is just that cute! This is a fantastic book for younger readers (age 4+, so says the back cover of the book) and one that I'm sure will be read again and again. I can't wait to read more from Ava and Squishy!
