Review:

Aliens Stink! is about Tim, his scientist dad and his pet goldfish. Strange stuff is happening on Earth - pollution suddenly disappears, the air smells weird and unidentified lights are rife in the sky, and who's to blame? Aliens! Tim and his dad are kidnapped and soon find there's more to the invasion than they originally thought, but can they stop it and save Earth...?

Aliens Stink! is a fun book for 8+ readers but I have to admit it isn't one of my favourites for that age group. I found it overly long, though I did enjoy looking at the many fantastic illustrations by Jim Field. Little G the green alien is my favourite character in the whole book. With his cute obsession with hugs, affinity for fish and noses as ears, he really is unforgettable!

I'm sure younger readers will love this book, especially boys (but girls too, of course). It's funny, bonkers and actually quite complicated, and is all about aliens and space. What more could you want?! I'm intrigued enough to try more books by Steve Cole, and I think I'll start with Magic Ink. I've heard nothing but good reviews!
