Review: Baby Aliens Got My Teacher by Pamela Butchart
Publisher: Nosy Crow
Format: Paperback / eBook
Released: January 1st, 2014
One day Izzy and her friends are surprised to find that their teacher, Miss Jones, is actually being nice to them. This is the woman who was caught secretly smiling when Maisie Miller fell off her chair. There can only be one conclusion: she's been taken over by aliens, and now she wants to make them all aliens too!
This book is so much fun! I flew through it, laughing and gasping in equal measure at the antics of Izzy, Zach and Jodi. It really is true that children have the best imaginations, and these three definitely do!
Baby Aliens Got My Teacher is a bonkers story about three kids who think their teacher has been taken over by baby ear aliens. All the evidence adds up and they're absolutely convinced that this is why she's being so nice! There must be a real explanation, right? You'd think so, but a sudden influx of strange teddies would suggest otherwise...
Pamela Butchart's writing made me chuckle all the way through, especially the baby ear aliens and crisp twins. It's just such a crazy, lighthearted book that you can't help smile when reading it - I'm quite sure children will LOVE it! Also Tom Flintham's illustrations are great too, adding even more to the story. I especially like the depiction of the evil teddies!
Baby Aliens Got My Teacher is a fantastic book for younger readers and will appeal to anyone who wants a quick, humorous read. There's something here for everyone, whether you're seven or almost twenty-seven (ahem), and Pamela Butchart is an author to watch. I can't wait for her next book!
