Review: The Safari Set by Madeleine Rogers
Publisher: Button Books
Released: September 7th, 2014
Teach your children about the animals of the savannah with this fun and educational book. Five animals are explored through rhyme, pictures and pull-out 2D figures to construct into 3D: leopard, giraffe, elephant, lion and zebra.
The Safari Set is a lovely children's book that immediately caught my eye as soon as I saw it. It's a rhyming picture book about various safari animals and it also includes five paper animals that you can pop out, fold and glue into place. The cover can be removed to make a safari setting, which will no doubt provide hours of fun for any child lucky enough to own this book!
The Safari Set is a hardback volume fully illustrated by Madeleine Rogers and featuring a beautiful, bright design that really is hard to miss. The added bonus of pop out animals makes it that much better, especially when it comes to teaching children about various animals and their appearance. Parents will probably like this book just as much as their children, particularly because it rhymes and is just so entertaining to read. I've read it a couple of times now and thoroughly enjoyed it!
This is one of the nicest children's books I've seen recently, both in design and content. The illustrations are great to look at, while the text is sharp and to the point, perfect for those first steps into the animal world. There are two more books in this series that look equally as good, titled The Jungle Crew and The Polar Pack. Do look out for them if you like the look of The Safari Set!
The Safari Set, The Jungle Crew and The Polar Pack are £11.99 each and available from www.thegmcgroup.com.
