Amazon summary:

It's Christmas - but poor Santa has a cold! So Little Hedgehog sets out with a sledge full of presents. "Santa's helper is on the way!" But there are too many presents for one little hedgehog to handle. Perhaps he needs some help from his friends?

The Little Hedgehog series of children's books always catches my eye and I do own a cuouple of board books that I bought for myself. I just love Little Hedgehog's face - it's so cute! One Special Christmas is another excellent addition to the series and is a picture book that I'll be keeping in my collection to read every year.

In this story, Little Hedgehog is tasked with a very important job - delivering all Santa's presents. Wearing his little read hat, he tries his very best to get through all his presents, but he encounters a bit of a problem when his sleigh gets buried in snow. Luckily, his friends aren't far away, and Fox, Rabbit, and Badger all chip in to help. Phew - thank goodness for friends!

One Special Christmas is a gorgeous book from start to finish, with lovely soft illustrations and a heartwarming story at its heart. If you can read one of these books and not fall in love with Little Hedgehog, I'll be very, very surprised! He's one of the best characters in children's picture books at the moment, and I like how there's always a message for little readers to take away. This time it's all about friendship and helping those in need, which is never a bad tale to tell, especially around the holiday season.

There's also an added bonus hiding in this book, which is Little Hedgehog's hat made out of real material. So in addition to looking at the amazing illustrations and following the friends' journey, readers can also touch-and-feel as they enjoy the story. It's a win-win read all round, and one that even I loved from start to finish.
