Review: Drive Me Crazy by Erin Downing
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Format: Paperback / eBook
Released: June 2nd, 2009
Kate’s tote is packed and she’s ready for a road trip! She and her two best friends, Sierra and Alexis, are geared up for a week of fun and freedom on the road to their family lake houses in Love, Wisconsin. Best of all, when Kate reaches Love, she’ll be reunited with Lucas, with whom she shared a steamy end-of-summer kiss last year. Kate can’t wait to see Lucas again and pick things up exactly where they left off. Then Kate gets some seriously bad news: Alexis’s sarcastic, condescending, hot-but-he-knows-it cousin is crashing the girls’ road trip. Adam bugs Kate in every possible way. Now Kate just wants to get the road trip over with so she can spend the summer in Lucas’s arms. But the road to Love is full of surprises…
Drive Me Crazy is one of Erin Downing's Simon Pulse romantic comedies and is yet another fun read from her. It's short, sweet and perfect for a rainy day - there's nothing better than curling up with a good romcom!
Kate, Sierra and Alexis are headed to their family's lake houses in Love, Wisconsin. Kate's excited about seeing her previous summer boy Lucas, but a spanner is thrown in the works when Alexis's cousin Adam crashes their road trip. Kate and Adam don't see eye to eye, but sometimes things don't turn out quite how you expect them to...
I liked all the characters in this book, particularly Adam and Kate. They steal the show with their witty banter and acerbic insults, and their dialogue was my favourite to read. Their story is a little predictable at times, but I expected that and enjoyed their journey nonetheless.
Drive Me Crazy is Erin Downing at her romantic best. She's a great writer and really should get more recognition in the YA world - I've read three of her books now and have liked them all. Prom Crashers and Dancing Queen are next on my list and I hope they're as enjoyable as this one!
